Mitre

It was a great week down here in Mitre, I really enjoyed it.

We had a baptism this week. His name is Claudio, he´s the brother of a member here in Mitre. A few weeks ago the member had a really strong feeling that she needed to visit her brother with the Elders, and well, he got baptized on Saturday. He had a pretty bad problem with alcohol but was able to overcome it.

The other day we were knocking some doors, and to mix things up a bit my comp grabbed a cat from the street and we went around knocking doors to see who wanted it. Well after like 3 houses this dude named Julio answered the door and wanted the cat, we taught him the restoration, and he totally came to church yesterday. It was a miracle haha.

Like I said before, Mitre is a huge ward... It´s full of a bunch of RMs and young families. They´re all pretty willing to give references which makes our job pretty easy.. We´ve been teaching quite a bit and we have some pretty solid investigators. But my feet hurt a little from walking so much again (I miss my bike in Albardon).

We had the worldwide training meeting where they announced the new changes to the schedule. It basically lets us sleep a little bit more which will be pretty awesome. They gave us more flexibility and stuff as far as studies. It was a pretty good training, and they also gave us 2 more hours on P day. Boom.

Today we´re going to Mendoza for consejo tomorrow, same old same old. We have a ton of meetings this week so it´s gonna go by slow, oh well.

I can´t think of anything else to say. Have a good week and I love you all!

Back in San Rafael

It´s been a splendid week here in the mission. Some pretty solid stuff happened.

I got back to San Rafael, I´m now in this area called Mitre, which is huge, it´s my largest ward by far. There are like 120 members that come to church which is insane. My companion is Elder Vega, a dude from Chile. He´s pretty much fluent in English and is gonna study in BYU. He´s been to Utah a lot of times so yeah, he has 9 months on the mish and came in the same group as Elder Bingham, my son.

So on Monday we had p day and I said goodbye to some members and what not in Albardon, it was pretty sad. So on Tuesday I had to catch a bus at 8 am for Mendoza, and then I got to San Rafael at like 5:00pm. I had to travel quite a bit haha.

So we were walking in my new area when all of the sudden this car pulls over, I recognized the car from somewhere.... and Baldy and Gero got out of the car !!!! (some converts from El Cerrito). It was way cool to see them again, they´re active still haha thank goodness, and then they drove us to our next appointment which was kinda far away. Nice.

We have some pretty solid members and investigators here in Mitre, I´m enjoying it quite a bit already. We´ve put in some good work already and some baptisms hopefully will be coming. So yeah.

That´s it for this week.

Traslados!

Well we had a pretty solid week up here in Albardon.

First off, we were able to baptize Susana on Saturday. It was way cool. She has been a really cool investigator and she was really ready. A little background story.. We knocked her door back in OCTOBER and we never gave up. She is very evangelica and knows the Bible extremely well. She was just sick and tired of churches that don´t practice what they preach, accepted the Book of Mormon, and yeah... that´s that.

Friday the 13th treated us pretty well. My companion´s bike had to be repaired 3 times. it kinda sucked. Also, in the night, I slept like 2 hours because I was dying of heat. Then in the morning when the sun came up I realized why I was so hot... The air conditioning machine tube thingy that goes outside had fallen off and hot air was blowing right into the fan I was using. I don´t know how that happened but all is well now.

Yesterday we got transfers.... I´m headed back to San Rafael!! I´m going with an elder named Elder Vega from Chile. It´s kinda funny because last time I left chimbas and went to san raffy... and now the same thing will happen. So I have a few buses to take to get there. I´m pretty pumped, the area is called Mitre and it´s really large. Not to mention I will get to see the ashes of El Cerrito (they combined wards and it´s called something different.) It´s gonna be lit.

The other day I hit 18 months on my mission. Oh my gosh....

So today will be a pretty good day, gotta pack all my stuff and hit the terminal tomorrow. I don´t know how I´m going to do it because my suitcases are all pretty destroyed. But it happens. I´m pretty happy to be leaving the extreme heat of San Juan and spend the summer in the other promised land, San Raffy.

That´ll do it for this week. Have a good week and behave yourselves!!

Albardon Semana 23

Well it´s been a splendid week here in Albardon. It´s still extremely hot down here in the desert but I guess that´s a little better than nonstop snow.

It was a pretty normal week. One of our progressing investigators, Susana, will be getting baptized on Saturday. We found her back in October but we never gave up, so that´s good. Her son and her other sister will be getting baptized in the upcoming weeks. We´ve also been able to find some pretty solid families in our area that have potential. Boom.

On Sunday in the morning I realized my bike had spikes in like 5 places so I attempted to patch them all and I failed miserably, cause when we took off to the church the tire just kinda... died. That´s kinda been the story with these bikes, but they´ve been good. Kind of a nice break from walking everywhere like in my past areas.
I don´t know if I said this before but my comp really likes to exercise. And he like MAKES me do good exercises. I´ve come a long way hahah. We have this whole routine we do that´s pretty hard but now I can do it pretty well. It´s been fun.
Last P day we went to the historic house museum thingy of Domingo Faustino Sarmiento, basically a founding father of Argentina. He was born in San Juan. I took a bunch of photos to make the most of the 20 pesos they charged us. I also took some pictures with some dinosaurs haha.
I did an intercambio with an Elder named Elder Yugsi, from ecuador. He´s famous for being in the most dangerous areas in the mission for long amounts of time. He´s pretty cool, and we had a lesson with some evangelicos. They told us we didn´t know the bible when we were literally giving them scriptures to fight against us cause they couldn´t remember. So that was fun. Some day, some day.
That´s pretty much it.... Have a fantastic week make sure to pray, read your scriptures, and go to church.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year to everyone! 2017 is going to be a good year! I can´t believe that 2016 is already over.. The dark year is over... oh my.

This week on Tuesday we had consejo like normal. In the colectivo I accidentally spilled juice all over my shirt and I didn´t bring another one... oh well. Consejo was pretty good.

Then on Wednesday we had interviews with President Goates. I can´t remember if I already said this but we will be having interviews and a Zone conference every transfer instead of every other transfer. President says he´s doubling his efforts as he finishes his mission.

So after interviews we were just working, and the phone rang, and President and Hermana Goates wanted to leave with us and work. It was pretty fun, mainly because we had an air conditioned car instead of old bikes. So we visited some people and at the end of the day they went home.
For new years the Bishop and Hermano Aldana came to our pench and we had an asado. It was pretty awesome, I couldn´t eat all that was there. And then, Victor, an recent convert, brought us some empanadas so that was fun. Then we played around with the soccer ball like we did last week. There were a ton of fireworks around us so that was good.
Yesterday there was a fire in this ranch thingy in front of our pench. It wasn´t very big but some firefighters came and put it out. I think it was caused by a firework yesterday in the siesta. I´ll send some photos, but don´t worry, all is good.
As far as investigators Susana will be getting baptized the 14 of January if she can come to church this Sunday. We´re pretty sure it´ll go through, she´s way solid. Her son and sister will be getting baptized a little bit later when some family of theirs show up to see the baptism. We also committed a couple to get married so they can get baptized, that will all be happening in February. Man, Albardon has been such a great area. I´m sad because I know my time here is coming to a close.... oh well.
That will did it for this week. I hope you all have a great day, week, and year.... put some goals and go out and do them!  The Church is true so we should go out and share it!
Love,
Elder Anderson
