Albardon Hogar

Well hello everyone. It´s been a fantastic week up here in Albardon, we´ve been doing some serious missionary work here.

Wednesday was a pretty good day. We found a neighborhood REALLY far away, and we´re pretty sure missionaries have never set foot there. To make a long story short, we found 24 new investigators in one week which is the most I´ve ever found in one week by far. The zone did pretty well too and we are really happy. In the neighborhood we found, we saw a bunch of people illegally racing dogs. That´s how far away it was haha.

Right now we´re writing in Mendoza. This morning we go up early and took a bus to mendoza, we have consejo again tomorrow. We went and ate pizza and ice cream in the house of some beloved members in Cementista for our p day. it´s been a good day today. I was in Cementista one year ago, wow.

I´ve been reading a lot in the book of mormon, in those little chapters towards the beginning. Omni, Enos, and Jarom had some good words. I feel like sometims we forget about those books. Not to mention the Words of Mormon. every part of the Book of Mormon was put there for a reason, so we should take advantage of it all, yanno?

The week passed pretty quickly, pretty much the same old. Sometimes I feel like these letters are a little repetitive but it´s all good.

That´s all for now. have a good week!!!

to whom it may concern

Welcome to another letter from Elder Anderson, I hope you enjoy this week´s edition of the life of a missionary in San Juan, Argentina.

We first of all I realized that me la mandé (I messed up) with my letter from last week, actually I´m starting my 10th transfer of my time in the mission field. So yeah, just so you know.

We were able to get 3 investigators in the church yesterday, so we were pretty pumped about that. One of them has been an investigator for a long time and just has to get married to get baptized. But what happened is that her future father in law is in critical condition in the hospital and she said she´s gonna get married and baptized. So hopefully all will go well there.

Quick update, my son, Elder Bingham went home the other day. His knee was really bad, so hopefully he´ll be able to get back down here soon.

We´ve continued to find a lot of new investigators in Albardon. Stuff has been awesome. This letter is going to be extremely short, as I am running out of time here. But, I will send lots of pictures.

Some scriptures I´ve been reading include Alma 40 through 45. Those are some good chapters.

Once again sorry for the short letter but here come lots of photos.

love,

Elder Anderson

Transfer 9

Today I start my ninth transfer in the mission field! Last transfer went by really quickly, like normal. I´m pretty happy here in Albardon, I´m pretty sure I´ll be here for 6 months.

Last week was really good. Last Monday the Stake President, President Zanni, called and asked if we could put together a choir for Stake Conference in Chimbas. So on Wednesday, during our Zone Meeting, we put it together... it was way good. We sang Acompáñame which I think in English is Abide with Me. I played the piano, kinda did made up some twists and interlude music so it wasn´t just the hymn. Stake Conference was good, President and Hermana Goates came and talked. Also the temple president of the temple in Córdoba came and spoke. At stake conference I also found out that Utah beat BYU. So it was overall a great day.

Elder Balmaceda and I continue to find a ton of people to teach, we found 16 new investigators last week. Our zone as a whole found 62, which we´re pretty happy about. Now the question is how many of those people will get baptized. Like I´ve said before, in Chimbas it´s not that hard to enter into a house and teach a lesson, but it´s hard to find them afterwards and get them to progress. Our main investigator right now is still Oscar Flores, who we put a baptismal date on for the 8th of October, so hopefully he can get to church a few times before the date.

Transfers yesterday were pretty normal.. haha I´m starting to feel old here, just because the transfer call has kinda lost it´s lust haha. But that doesn´t stop us from working hard, don´t worry. And Elder Sears, my one week trio comp is now the financiero so he gets to handle my money. sweet.

We saved a pigeon the other day hahah. We were at the church and all of the sudden this bird´s foot somehow got stuck in the rain gutters so it was basically just hanging there. But we did what Jesus would have done and saved it. Boom.

Also the weather here has been pretty hot. last week was kinda a fluke, because it´s been hot. Looks like another summer in Chimbas, oh well. Today´s p day is pretty low key, we found a cyber in Albardon the other day so now we don´t have to go to centro to write emails. Saves a lot of time. We´re probably gonna eat some chicken for lunch.

That´s all for this week, kinda boring, but things are going really well. I know that this is the place I´m supposed to be. Sharing the gospel is awesome, even though sometimes it might seem hard. But it brings great blessings.

have a good week!

love,

Elder Anderson

Busy

Hello everyone, I hope everything is going good. Things down here are going pretty great. The weather here cooled down drastically. I broke out my big coat again. It reminds me of San Rafael.

Monday and Tuesday flew due to Consejo. It was pretty great, like last time. We took some awesome photos that will be send in a little.

Then on Wednesday we started working. We taught a family of 4, the parents and two twin girls. They are pretty cool. But what happened, the second we left the house my companion stepped on a thorn the size of your index finger, and it went through his shoe and pierced his muscle in his heel. So we had to go to the doctor´s office the next morning.

We fixed our bikes, finally. As soon as we fix them something always happens, for example I fixed my tire because the inside tube thingy broke. Well the SECOND I walked out of the bike shop the chain literally fell off and the gear switch thingy broke. So yeah.

So working was pretty limited this week, but we did have one investigator come to church yesterday. I just realized I do a pretty crappy job talking about investigators in these letters so I´ll do my best to describe them. The investigator who came to church with us is named Martin, he´s been an investigator here for a long time. We had a long chat with him the other day. On Saturday we went by his house to see if he could come to church and he told us he had been reading and praying. He also gave us his pack of cigarettes that he wrote on with a permanent marker `fumar menos´ which simply means ´smoke less´ (I took a photo). So he´s cool. Other investigators we have, hmm. Oscar had a busy week this week, and so did we, not to mention he lives clear out in the wilderness of Campo Afuera, so we couldn´t teach him this week. We´ve also found some other cool people so we will see what happens with them.

On Thursday we had Zone Conference. (5th of 8 in the mish, wow). President had some awesome advice about faith, charity, and hope. They all go together. It´s all a decision, really. Now that I think of it, life really is a decision. It makes me think of President Monson´s last conference talk, and how everything is a decision. We honestly get to DECIDE if we want celestial glory, we just have to choose things that lead us there.

This week we have Stake Conference and on Sunday we have transfers already. We´re almost 500 percent sure that we are going to be staying here in Albardon, me and Elder Balmaceda. We´ve been doing pretty good together, the zone has been doing work. We had 3 baptisms in the zone last week which is freaking amazing.

That´s all for this week. Enjoy being in school haha.
