So for Tuesday I was with Elder Nielsen, a guy from my group who is also training. Basically, we just had to be at the office pench at 9:00, so we had a lot of time to kill. I went back to Cementista and visited some members, it was way cool, and I could actually understand them, hahaha. We also went to one of elder nielsen´s old areas and visited some people there. then at nine we got to the office pench.
Wednesday morning we helped the office elders set up the stuff for the newbies. Then President Goates gave the trainers (we were 11) a short training meeting about this position, it was cool. So the incoming group was 8 latinos and 3 gringos, pretty cool.
So they had us take off our ties and then handed the ties to our sons and they had to find us... It was just like I did with Elder Leytton oh so long ago. It felt way weird to be on the other side of it. (side note: Elder Lybbert is also training so I got to hang out with him for the day.) So yeah.
My son is named Elder Bingham, he was one of the 3 incoming Gringos. It´s way crazy, because he is actually from RUSSIA, like holy crap!!! he got adopted when he was 8 and moved to Arizona, and then moved to Missouri. So he´s still technically gringo haha. But yeah. He´s way cool. We´ve been working way hard and I´ve been teaching him the ways of the mission. I even gave him the inheritance tie already. So things are going well there. He wrestled in high school and is pretty ripped. So on Wednesday we rode the bus home and got him settled in to El Cerrito, his birthplace hahah.
So we went to go teach an investigator we have named Jerusalén. We had a member and everything, and she let us in, everything was going well. So we are about to start and Jerusalén´s son starts barfing EVERYWHERE. I have never seen anyone throw up like that. So we had to cancel the lesson. As we were walking out I simply said to Elder Bingham, ´Welcome to Argentina´ hahahaha. How about that for day 1.
So we´ve been working hard and he´s quickly realized that knocking doors and getting rejected is a very common thing haha. Things are going great, and we managed to put a baptismal date on a family. That was good. Elder Bingham doens´t understand a whole lot, but that´s just something everyone has to go through, haha.
So that´s pretty much it... 10 months down. The mission only gets better. I´m excited for the future haha time flies down here. Anyway have a good week and you are all in my prayers!!!
Love,
Elder Anderson
